They were all dubbed into German.
Simon: I've just come back from a great week in Germany staying with
my friend but there was one thing I didn't like much.
Martin: Don't tell me it was the beer?
Simon: No, of course not; that was great. It was when they showed
English-language movies on TV. They were all dubbed into German, which rather spoiled them for me.
Martin: Your German's very good, so what was the problem?
Simon: It just seemed a bit unnatural to see Tom Hanks in an American
scene with German coming out of his mouth.
Martin: But that's done for the Germans' benefit, not yours.
The voices in the American film were dubbed into Chinese或The American film was dubbed into Chinese即'那部美国电影用中文重新配了音'.
The Japanese film had English subtitles/subtitles in English即'这部日本电影有英文字幕'.
They are showing the subtitled version of the film, not the dubbed version(他们现在放映这部电影的字幕版,不是配音版)。
A film dubbed into another language often sounds odd/strange/funny/unnatural. I detected a funny smell(我闻到一阵古怪气味)。
She dubbed the videotape of her wedding, and sent the copy to her mother(她把自己婚礼的录像带转录一卷,寄给母亲)。
I've just come back from a great week in Germany staying with my friend. I'm living at the Hilton Hotel之类,应说I'm staying at the X Hotel(我在某旅馆下榻)。[NextPage] She sounds really star-struck.
Jack: My teenage sister really gets on my nerves at times.
Bill: Why's that? Does she spend hours making up in the bathroom?
Jack: No, it's not that, she just keeps going on and on about how wonderful Leonardo di Caprio is.
Bill: Well a lot of girls really go for him.
Jack: But she's got dozens of his pictures all over her bedroom wall and she watches his movies over and over again on her DVD player.
Bill: She sounds really star-struck.
Jack: That's putting it mildly.
The thug struck him with a beer bottle(那恶棍用啤酒瓶打他)。
(1) I was struck by their terrible living conditions(他们居住环境之恶劣,让我印象深刻)。
(2) Her unparalleled beauty struck me dumb(她美丽无双,看得我目瞪口呆)。
(1) She was so star-struck by Leonardo di Caprio that she had all his DVDs(她对莱昂纳多?
(2) I was star-struck after meeting Bruce Lee(我见过李小龙之后,就被深深着迷)。
I was thunderstruck when I heard that she was dead(我听到她死了,一时瞠目结舌)。
最后且谈谈这一课对话里三个词语:get on one's nerves、at times、go for. I don't much go for movie stars(我不大喜欢电影明星)。At times等于sometimes(有时),例如:After her departure, I feel lonely at time,(她离开后,我有时会感到寂寞)。 The din of the traffic is getting on my nerves(交通的喧阗,渐渐使我感到心烦)。
