I want to see the credits.
Vivienne: Come on, let's go, the movie's over.
Zelda: No, wait, I want to see the credits right through to the end.
Vivienne: Why, they list everybody including the studio cleaner. It'll take forever.
Zelda: My sister's in the movie business and she worked on this movie.
Vivienne: Really, what does she do?
Zelda: She's a make-up artist. Look, there she is, that's her name just coming up now. My mother will be so pleased when I tell her.
It'll take forever. It will take forever to read such a tome as War and Peace
(1)I'll love you forever and a day(我爱你一生一世), (2)He took forever and a day to make the decision(他很久很久才下决定)。
We should give him credit for his hard work(他努力工作,我们应予表扬)。 Tom was piqued to find that he did not get a mention in the credits(汤姆见工作人员名单提都没有提到他,很不高兴)Pique是'使生气',多是指自尊心受损而生气。
On the first page are the credits for all those who helped in the production of this dictionary(第一页列出了所有协助出版这本字典的工作人员的名字)。 [NextPage] I've got two tickets for the premiere.
Melanie: You're looking very pleased with yourself? How come?
Jim: Look what I've got - two tickets for the premiere of the latest Tom Cruise movie and the reception afterwards.
Melanie: Wow! How did you get them?
Jim: I got them through my friend. His brother's in the movie distribution business.
Melanie: Are they good seats?
Jim: I'll say. They're in the front row of the balcony, right in the middle.
How come? How come he isn't at work today?(= Why isn't he at work today? .
Why的另一通俗说法,是What for? What are you looking so pleased for?(=Why are you looking so pleased? Wherefore art thou Romeo? (=Why are you Romeo? I should like to know the whys and wherefores of your being here (我要知道你在这里的原因) .
The entire cast of the film attended its European premiere(电影全体演员出席其欧洲首映礼) .Cast是集合名词(collective noun) , 指戏剧或电影的所有演员。
