　　Kathy: I didn't know you felt that way. I promise I'll speak more Chinese with you.
　　Dan: We can speak English, too, but let's switch off and take turns.
　　Kathy: No problem. Well, we should set off this lantern and go get some sleep.
　　Dan: Hold your horses. I'm going to write one more wish.
　　Kathy: Now don't say you wish I'd wash the dishes more often.
　　Dan: No, not that. I wish the rest of our trip to be hassle-free, and especially thug-free. [They set off the lantern]

　　卡西：我不知道你有这样的感觉。我答应我会多跟你说中文。
　　阿丹：我们也可以说英语，但是可以中英文替换着轮流说。
　　卡西：好呀。我们放完天灯就去睡个觉吧。
　　阿丹：先别急。我还要再许一个愿望。
　　卡西：别告诉我你现在许愿希望我会更常洗碗。
　　阿丹：不，不是那个。我希望剩下的旅程能够不会再遇到麻烦，尤其是别再碰到恶棍了。（他们放了天灯）
　　重点解说：
　　★ promise (v.) 承诺
　　★ switch off 交换
　　★ take turns 轮流
　　★ hassle-free (a.) 没有麻烦的。名词后面加上-free，就是指‘没有…的’

　　Kathy: What are you going to wish for?
　　Dan: For you to speak Chinese with me.
　　Kathy: What? You want me to speak Chinese?
　　Dan: Your English is so good. I hardly ever get any practice in Chinese.
　　Kathy: But you live in a Chinese-speaking country.
　　Dan: That's just it. Everybody thinks they need to speak English to “the foreigner.”
　　Kathy: But very few speak Chinese.
　　Dan: That's true, but the ones that do should be given a chance.

　　卡西：但是很少有外国人会说中文。
　　阿丹：确实如此，所以应该要给会说中文的外国人一个机会。
