Seth: Why does Taiwan have so many damned scam artists?
Ash: Between elderly pensioners and the young and naive like us, there's a huge market!
Seth: But what can be done to stop it?
Ash: Maybe stiffer penalties for the criminals? Who knows? I'm sure better education would help.
Seth: What kind of class can help with this kind of thing? I thought I won one million dollars last week. If Milt didn't stop me, I would probably be out of every cent I've ever made.
  ★ damned (a.)
  ★ pensioner (n.)
  ★ naive (a.)
  ★ stiff (a.)
  ★ penalty (n.)
  ★ criminal (n.)
  I'm a stranger here.
I'm a stranger here."(对我来讲,这儿很陌生。)除此之外,也可以用 "I'm not from here."(我不是当地人)。 (You're a foreigner.) You're not from here."(原来你不是本地人。),或者你可直接问 "Where are you from?"(请问你从哪来?)
A:Excuse me. Would you tell me where the SOGO shopping arcade is?
B:Sorry, I don't know. I'm a stranger here. You should ask somebody else.
  A:Thanks anyway.
B:You're welcome. I wish I could have helped you.
Sorry, I'm not sure. I'm a stranger here/I'm new around here too/I'm just passing through/I'm from out of town myself(对不起,我不清楚。
From out of town即‘从其它地方来到这城里’。 Guangzhou is my favorite town(广州是我喜欢的城市)。
He works in (the) town, and lives in the suburbs(他在市中心工作,在近郊居住。
He went up to town form Windsor(他从温莎去到伦敦)。
I'll be out of town next week和I'll be out of the town next week这两句,同样是说‘我下星期会出城’,但第一句的我是城中居民,第二句的我却不是。
